What is GoFundMe
GoFundMe is a fundraising website to help raise money online. You can use this website for any cause, like education, sports, charity, and more.
Why I'm Using It
Long story When I was 8 my father passed away and my family started to receive Survivors Benefits. A few weeks ago I was notified that since I had graduated early we wouldn't be receiving anymore of this money, which I had relied on to help pay for part of my college tuition, plane ticket, and rent. We had been receiving this money every month, but we used it to help pay for house expenses, much needed house repairs and our family medical bills, so unfortunately we were unable to save any of the money, but it helped us keep our home intact. I've been working since I was 16 (the same age I had graduated), but I started at a minimum wage job that barely gave me any hours and now I work with a catering business that pays well, but only allows me to work 5 times... a month (on average). I would only ask for money if I knew it was going towards a good cause, and I'm not too prideful to say that I honestly could use the help, but I want everyone who is willing to help me know that I won't only rely on these donations. I will work everyday to help get myself financially stable and be the first one in my generation to go to college.
